Rich & Angela Tozour
Rich Tozour grew up in southern New Jersey and trusted Christ as his Savior on February 12, 1977 (He was ten years old and had never heard the Gospel prior to that day.). It was Rich’s dad, Richard Tozour, Sr., who led Rich to Christ! Rich graduated from Gloucester County Christian School in 1985 and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in biblical studies at Pensacola Christian College (Pensacola, Florida) in 1989. It was at PCC that Rich met his wife-to-be.
Angela Wessberg grew up in an evangelist’s home. Lars and Phyllis Wessberg had been in the pastoral ministry for fifteen years before selling most of their earthly goods and moving their family of six into a thirty-five-foot travel trailer. The Wessbergs launched out into evangelism in 1985. Angela was in the eighth grade when her family took this big step; she became the pianist in her father’s meetings and helped her mother in the children’s ministry.
Angela went to Pensacola Christian College and earned a degree in secretarial administration. She also travelled for three summers as a pianist with PCC ensembles. It was through this experience that she and Rich got acquainted. After Rich received the blessing of his parents and Angela’s, he began to pursue a romantic interest in the Wessbergs’ eldest child. Rich and Angela were married on May 22, 1993.
In August of 1993, Rich and Angela joined Eagle Heights Baptist Church in Kansas City. They taught at Eagle Heights Christian School for one year before being sent out by the church into full-time evangelism in June 1994.
Their first child, Briana. was born in Kansas City on May 4, 1996. Heather was added to the family on November 5, 1999. The Tozour girls are home-schooled through A Beka Academy and live with their parents in a forty-three-foot fifth-wheel trailer. Briana and Heather are helpers in the nightly children’s meetings and are a real asset to the team. A third daughter, Lanae, was born on October 7, 2010.
